Day 11 ~ August 11, 2024 Twillingate and Lighthouses.

Today was a full day on and off the bus many times.  We left our hotel in Gander by 8:00am with breakfast in our tummies.  Twillingate was our destination today with a couple of good sites.  It was almost 2 hour drive north of Gander.  We saw a old working Lighthouse.

This is also the place where the icebergs go down in the spring.  Then we went to a very old historical Church St Peter’s a da museum, a craft store and a cemetery.

Then it was lunch time and we both had chicken Caesar salads.  We had it at a place called Auk Island winery.  Make sure to read these labels just too funny

After a great lunch we traveled to a a place that started up during the time that the cod was shut down for fishing.  He moved all Original building to his Prime Berth Fishing Museum and started up a fishing museum.  It was pretty cool

                              Cod tongue and cod cheeks

          Ugly sticks

Last we went to the place where the Arrow Air Crash site was on Dec 12 1985
 The Silent Witness Memorial

Now sitting in our room dinner is done we are in bed and watching the repeat of the Olympics.
Nighty night your travel buds.
