Kobe is the 5th largest city in Japan and is the capital city of Hyogo Perfecture on the southern side of the main island of Honshu, and approximately 30 km west of Osaka. In 1995 the great Hanshin Earthquake diminished much of Kobe's prominence as a port city, it remains Japan's 4th busiest container port.
We had a great welcome with a Fire Boat spraying out lots of water as we came into port. We also had a Band playing many songs i.e. Anchors away.
Once off the ship we went up to see the view of Kobe from Mt Roco. It was a beautiful day but alittle hazy. You could see for miles.
We then went to a Saki factory plant. Got to taste some, served cold and some was fruity.
Then we went back to the ship and split a Kobe Burger......very very good. Took the shuttle to the shopping districts and Chinatown.
Back to the ship by 5:00 all aboard for 6:30
Tomorrow is a SEA DAY
Thanks for coming along with us....will post when we get Wi-Fi back
