Twice in a Lifetime

Anyone who followed our blog during our 2012 world cruise on Holland America Line’s m/s Amsterdam knows that we considered that voyage a “Once in a lifetime” trip. Since then, we’ve enjoyed doing a couple more of Holland America Cruises.

But now we’re going to make it twice in a lifetime! Bob and I are booked on Oceania World Cruise, beginning in January 2015. The idea is the same —a Six-month circumnavigation from east to west but the itinerary differs enough from our previous route to make it a whole new experience.  We will be on a smaller ship.  Only holds 700 passenger compared to 1300 what we are used too.  So that means getting right into all the nooks and crannies that the larger ones can't get into.

We’ll leave Miami and immediately head for the Caribbean passing down through South America. We’ll make a few stops on the east coast of Brazil, before heading across the Atlantic Ocean and then on to the Continent of Africa.  This will a first for us.  Maybe a safari will happened.

There will be lots of islands on this trip:  Hawaiian Islands, South Pacific, French Polynesia, Indonesia, Philippines, the Seychelles, Madagascar, Taiwan, Maldives, The Marquesas Islands, Cook Islands.  A lot of new ports for us.

We’ll visit 5 Australian ports—Sydney, Darwin, Cairns, Brisbane and Whitsunday Island and Hobart.  Some Asian cities that we enjoyed before:  Hong Kong, Singapore, Shanghai, and Beijing. We will than take the Panama Canal to travel back to Miami in July...Then head back home to Canada.   Sounds like fun right....So if you want to follow us around the World just sign up your email and a email will come into your mail every time I make a post.
