Without a doubt Napiers biggest attraction is the city itself with marvelous architecture that offers us as visitors a look back in time. Very friendly town and lots of coffee shops. Blessed with fine coastal waterfront and weather very close to to California/ Mediterranean climate. It is very known now for the region of wine vineyards. They had a very devastating earthquake on Feb 3 1931 measuring 7.9 on the Richter scale, virtually destroyed the town. But they rebuilt in the Art Deco architectural style, which at that time was very popular. Today Napier is known as the Art Deco Capital of the world.
