This morning we got up a had breakfast early for our 8:00 am arrival. Beautiful morning sunshine peeking in and out of the clouds. Our little friendly bird sparrow was still here and decided not to leave the ship in Wellington. He is so cute and follows Palo all around like he is its mommy. He will perch himself on the back of people's chairs and wait for crumbs that someone offers. While sitting there we were admiring the view and noticed that we had either missed the right bay and we were doing a complete 360 and heading back out to the Cooks Strait. Within minutes our Captain was announcing on the PA system that Picton's weather was changing very fast. Winds and rains were coming our way. Soooooooo a fast turn around we go. My blog for this little village would read this
Imagine a scene of regal sailboats floating atop the blue waters, hugged by a picturesque landscape of rolling green mountains and cloud sprinkled skies. Yep this is Picton New Zealand from where we saw it....onboard. A charming seaside town at the head of the Queen Charlotte Sound. They say it's one of New Zealand's most prettiest seaside town. Yep we missed it......and the waterfront has one of the world's best water views known for its ever changing colors and clear waters. On our way out we did see about 25 dolphins playing and jumping on the side of the ship, almost like saying "please come back...." So the rest of the day was a normal sea day. Golf, lecture, GOT IN A NAP..... Tea at 4pm.
Here are a few more pictures of our day yesterday in Wellington
