So this morning after our breakfast of cereal and fruit we did our putting for Big "O" points, which we both got 3 points each. Doing very well I might add. We went to another presentation with the Club Ambassador Jennifer. We are having dinner with her tonight with 2 other ATW couples. It will be a fun night.
Our morning lecture talked about our next port Dar Es Salaam. We have a tour tomorrow with CC. Should be interesting. Our tour yesterday was a lot of fun but some people are already driving Bob nuts. They are so damn slow. They get in your way when your trying to get a picture. Getting pretty rude some of them.
We bought some cashews in Brazil at the market and we are snacking on them for lunch.
To hot to sit outside so I am writing this up and will post later tonight. The places to eat on board are pretty damn good. Let's see
The GDR ( that is the ships code for Grand Dining Room). The GDR is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We have only ate there for dinner except a brunch a few weeks ago. Absolutely no formals nights Country Club Casual is the dress theme.
Some disadvantages of no formal nights is that they never decorate for theme nights. We do miss that from HAL.
Then there is two speciality restaurants on board Insignia. The Polo Grill futures steak and seafood. And I might add at no extra cost. You just need to make reservations. It is very very good. I am having a hard time getting past the surf and turf.
The Toscana is the other special restaurant that specializes in Italian food. Service here is not as good as the other restaurants. A bit slower but the food is good.
Both specialty restaurants have excellent quality food and are only open for dinner.
Then we have the Terrace Cafe it is a buffet venue with indoor and outdoor seating and is open for three meals a day. This is NOT the typical cruise buffet – lobster is offered every night. And there is NO self service here. Staff dish out the food – no gooey, messy serving ware to handle for the guests. This is where we have our breakfast, and the special dinners we've had like the South American, African, and Chinese
And finally the outdoor ultra casual Waves grill by the pool. Food includes Kobe Beef burgers, Rueben sandwiches, Mahi Mahi, and of coarse salads
And of course, live music is performed before and after dinner every evening.
So until tomorrow... Thanks for coming along on our journey.
We have just heard of our first death on the ship. Yes a very nice man. Condolences goes out to Betsy. God be with you at this hard time
