Off the beaten path Sao Tome and Principe is a tropical paradise that offers lush rainforests bird watching, secluded waterfalls and isolated beautiful beaches. Shopping here is Rum and Coffee.
This is Africa's second smallest country. These two tiny volcanic bumps anchored off the Gabonese coast easily win the hearts of foreigners with their Portuguese-Creole flavour and relaxed vibes, and it won't take too long before you're infected with the pervasive leve leve (which loosely means 'take it easy') mood.
This two-island nation has its cultural gems as well, with a surprising number of heritage buildings dating back to the colonial era, including impressive roças (plantation estates). Tourism is still low-key and is being developed in a carefully controlled, ecologically minded way. There are no tacky resorts, just a number of locally run, enticing, nature-oriented lodges and hotels.
So this was the shuttle bus that took us into town. We were on the first tender and so we waiting an hour for more people to come on the shuttle. As we are almost right on the equator again it was very steamy and humid. It took as 10 minutes to reach town which if we had known that we could of walk. Bob was not a happy camper. and we were both soaking wet by 8:30am. So once in town we saw more markets so English speaking people and a church. We walked along the waterfront for at least 1 hour. Got our 10,000.00 steps in by 10 am.
no one really wants there picture taken. Except the children. They want to see the picture.

So maybe the other side of the island is the pretty side. It is very tropical here and sugar cane was once grown here. Not anymore, its the cocoa plant CHOCOLATE.....they don't sell any here way to hot. All Cocoa is exported.
We walked out on the pier to see what they were fishing for. They put a little bit of fish in the water and scoop out a lobster as they crawl near the fish
He already had 3 of them for his dinner tonight. So we got back on the tender at 2pm it was a hot hot day. Some of the dug out canoe. Our entertainment today is Erik J. Christensen featuring Michael Buble's take on the Great American Songbook. Excellent singer looking forward.
