July 11, 2014. Arriving from Ottawa to Boston Mass

We had a very tiring but enjoyable day today. We were up at 5AM to finish preparations to be gone for 6 weeks, such as setting thermostats, turning off water to the clothes washer and turning down the water heater temperature, etc.  We had a very nice drive to Ottawa, Ontario to catch our flight to Boston.   Everything was on time and once we got there, we checked into our Hotel  (Holiday Inn) downtown.  Since we have a few hours to kill we decided to walk some of the Freedom Trail.  After getting our luggage situated, we were quickly on our way to begin the exploration of Boston.  The trail is quite long we only did a very short part of it.  Bob didn't want to over do it.  The historic sites along the Freedom Trail are too numerous to list but here are a few photos.

 Yes even including Paul Revere

Kings Church, which has the oldest pulpit in the US which is still in use

This is the site of the Boston Massacre

The Old North Church where Paul Revere signaled with the lanterns
There were just too many sites to see and we were getting hungry.  We went back to the hotel and there was a South Bay Mall with lots of stores in back of the Holiday Inn.  We went to Applebee's for dinner and we both had hambergers mine with blue cheese yum.  After dinner we walk to a wine store and bought 2 bottles of wine for the start of our cruise.  Tomorrow we plan on seeing a little more and maybe get to Fenway......Have a great night
