We arrived in Portland Maine bright and early. We docked and were able to get off the ship after a nice breakfast. Portland is on a peninsula and is the largest city in Maine. Did you know that the favourite snack in Maine used to be the whoopie Pie? Yep in 2011 the Maine State Legislature designated the whoopie pie as Maines official state treat. This pie traditionally consists of two chocolate cake like rounds surrounded by a white cream filling. The popular treat is reported to have been bake in Maine since 1925. So today that was our mission to check out the bakeries and see if they are still making them. Well our plans changed pretty fast after deciding that after 2 bakeries no one had them Instead we took a trolley tour Nice sunny day greeted us as we toured Portland
