Last sea day....tomorrow were in Hawaii.
Sandy beaches, blue-sky waters, and of coarse the palm tree- lined shores, amazing volcanoes, hopefully tonight we might get the chance to see the activity or the red glow from 20 miles out. We need to be awake between 2-3 am. Sure gonna try. That's what comes to my mind when I think of Hawaii. The traditional dance of Hawaii is as vibrant as the rolling waves in its beaches. Hula is the local dance deeply rooted to the religion of the natives here. Because of this, the dance is considered mire as a sacred ritual than as a form of entertainment. But though time, the hula became part of celebrations and not just a spiritual-performance or a form of worship. The movements of the hands and the body of the performer have specific meanings. Then there is the Ukulele. This actually came from the Philippines. Was traded with sugar cane. Because Hawaii lacked metals and minerals except lava, people made use of the bountiful materials around them. This is why the early musical instruments of the Hawaiians were mostly made from plants, shells, and trees. Drums were made out of gourds, sticks that were stuck together and conch shells, which were played just like trumpets. Speaking of music last night we had our own Entertainment team well 3 of them entertain us. Trisha & Steve dis a great magic show. And Eric sang some great songs.
