Day 102. April 14, 2016. Docked at Naha (Okinawa) Japan on the Far East Traveler

Love this Roof top

Beautiful morning they got that wrong again. The sun is shinning and it's going to be a great last day in Japan. We have no plans today but to walk around. There is the Shuri Castle that was mostly destroyed in the Battle of Okinawa in 1945. Also the Tamaudun Mausoleum, a cave that is 3 miles long but it's 40 minutes by car away so don't think I want to do this. There is a Peace Memorial Park near the southern tip of the island with 27,000 white crosses for the USA men that died in the war.
Well this morning waiting for the golf to start we spotted 2 Huge whales playing and flopping their flippers around. 102 days and we finally see something besides flying fish.  So today as you can see we bought a Monorail pass for the day and traveled both ways.  To the North was the Castle which was very nice and red.  then walked around the area.  Then hopped back on to go to the end of the line to the South and that was the airport.  After that we went back down town to walk the 1km street of shopping.  It was store after store of the same things.  Don't know how anyone makes a living?  Everyone sells the same stuff.  Pickup some sand for Tiffany then it was back to the Ship for a 7:30 Sail away.  We also heard that Japan just had a 6.4 Earthquake today.  No we didn't feel it.  But we did loose power around 8pm and the generators kicked in very fast.  We drifted for about 20 minutes before they restarted the engines.  Don't know what that was all about?
Japan was very expensive but we knew that going into it.  It was very pretty and weather was fantastic.
Tomorrow and the next day are Sea days then we are in the Philippines.  We have 2 ports in the Philippines.
Thanks for joining us on this amazing journey.  Leslee & Bob
