Docked early in Castries capital of St Lucia, another different island, very mountainous and approx 238 sq miles. Anyone looking for a woman here you could be in luck - 6 women to every man! The most famous landmark in St Lucia is the UNESCO site of the Pitons, two huge mountains on the edge of a bay that seem to rise straight out of the blue Caribbean waters. The main crop was once sugar cane but is now bananas; the blue bags over the bananas keep the fruit from ripening too fast and also keep birds, monkeys, and insects away; and the cashew is the most expensive nut in the world because each tree produces only about 50 nuts.
They use the strong USD dollar here. To bad our dollar is so bad right now. But we cant worry about that now. Anyway the east side of the island is very scenic and the west side has all the beautiful beaches. They have a some gardens here with a waterfall.
Today we were on tour to see the Castries Market, St Lucia's Pitons, the waterfalls, the drive in volcano/ surfer springs ( mud bath ) It was a long day but very very good
