Day 7 January 11, 2015 Entering the Panama Canal
This is a very very early wake up if you want to see the whole transit. The crows nest is the perfect place to be but of coarse you need to be up there early to get a good spot. This transit will last all day and we will not be out into the Pacific Ocean until tonight around 7-8 depending on the traffic. It is always interesting to go thru any canal and marvel at the interesting things that you discover. Never boring but it is always very hot and humid at this area. A local pilot boarded our ship around 5 this morning and will stay with us until we exit. We love to start our morning with these famous Rolls that HAL calls "Panama Rolls" They are traditionally filled with custard and tangerine. Very famous rolls and if anyone out there has had them than you also they come in different names depending on where you are in the world.
So we will try and keep the pictures coming.
Stay tuned.......
