Day 21 Aug 01 , 2014 ~ Invergordon, Scotland

My first time to Scotland ....yes I made it....

5am in the Crow's Nest, fresh coffee in hand. Vessel in the North Sea, entering Moray Firth. Wind north 12, seas calm, heading 216 at 16 knots. I heard the captain announce last night that we are to meet the pilot boat at 5am, but I see no sign of it. Lights visible ashore.
Today begins a round of visits to various ports in the Scotland.

6:10am, donuts in hand. Well one hand.
7am the pilot boat coming in the distance.  Lots of oil rigs out here

We decided to go out on deck and listen to the bagpiper welcoming us to Invergordon. I love bagpipes so does Bob.
The most famous attraction in this region of Scotland is Loch Ness and the fabled Loch Ness Monster "Nessis".  There are also numerous historic buildings such as the Urquhart. Foulis Cawdor Inverness and Dunrobin Castles within a 50 mile radius. The city itself does not have any famous castles.  But it did have a lot of charm.  Today we had a 7 hour tour.  Saw my first castle and it was amazing.  we also went to a rushing stream and saw salmon jumping up the rushing river.  It was a great day.
