Day 61 March 04, 2016. Docked in Cochin, India on the Indian Ocean Passage

Wow what another great day in Incredible India.  Today's high only 96 degrees.  We went to the old quarter to explore the quaint streets of Fort Kochi.  We saw the trademark Chinese fishing nets.  Bob got to actually pull the ropes down that bring up the nets pretty cool.

Then it was back on our bus for an 1.35 hours to the Backwaters of Kerala.  This is a chain of lagoons, Rivers(5)and lakes along the coast of the Arabian Sea.  Very comparable in many ways of the bayou of Louisiana.  Many small villages thrive in remote areas along the lakes and canals that form hundreds of miles of waterways. The name "Backwaters" comes from the tide that goes in and out hence backwater.  It was such a nice day.  A lot cooler than in town.

Rice paddies on the other side of the canals
We had such a great day
Thanks for coming along
