Day 23 August 03 2014 ~ At Sea & a Very Special Anniversary

A Big Happy Anniversary goes out to Marilyn and Harry... We hope you enjoy your day.....

The seas where a bit rough today. We spent a tedious hour sorting photos. We love looking at the pictures, but sorting them for this Blog is a frustrating process. We have too many pictures to decided. Almost noon time and we get lots of desions to make. Today we had another hour of sleep in which I was very greatful and well needed.
Last few days we have been up so dam early and going to bed very very late.  I also
have caught the ships bug. It I feel fine I have just lost my voice.  My voice goes in and out
and at different levels.  Last night our waiter Teddy said I kinda sounded like Rod Stewart.
Bob is loving it because for once I am quiet.  Hope it doesnt last because I find myself
repeating everything more than once.  After breakfast we went to see "Good Morning Veendam"
and the guest today was the Captain.  He has a very good sense of humor.  Next we saw Barbara
the travel expert on all the ports of call and her talk today was on the next 3 ports in Iceland. That
lasted 45 minutes and her voice was leaving her as well.  She talked about where to see the puffins.
So tomorrow we are going to take a ferry over to a island and see the Puffins and their babies.  There
should be leaving the nest very soon. The babies leave at night and follow the light from the moon. But sometimes
they wind up in town because of the lights from town. Than it was up to the lido to vote on the best Artic theme
towel animal.  Of coarse we voted for our room attendant Agus.  After that we split a hamberger for lunch
at the Dive In and than went to a cooking show making Ensaymadas from the Philippines.  Full morning...
After that at 2 pm we went to the "Showroom at Sea" to see a presentation of "The Story and Glory of Holland
America".  They are celebrating 141 years of service.  We also won 2 raffels a very pretty Bella Perlina bracelt
and a pass for 2 to the Green House Spa and the Thermal Beds.......oh I am excited.  What a wonderful way to
end the cruise.  Tonight we had special plans to go to the Pinnacle for a wonderful dinner with Carol Ann and Storm
friends from the 2012 World Cruise that live in Ottawa.  Wonderful to travel again with them.  Tonight at 10 was the
show with Lance Ringnald who is a Olympic Gymnast and also has many other talents like playing the paino.  It was a
great sea day and I am ready for tomorrow to see those Puffins.
