A large fire occurred back in 1904 that totally destroyed the entire city, as most of the buildings were constructed of wood. It was then rebuilt and many of the buildings in the city center are of art nouveau design. Today we rode up to Mt. Aksla instead of taking the 500 steep steps to look at the views, and to go to this Viking outdoor museum just outside the city then finish it up with going to 2 islands Giske and Godoy islands connected by a 4km under ground tunnel.
As we are sailing into the city in the morning the reflection was amazing. Perfect morning.
The views are just breath taking up here.
Notice the roofs. This is at the outdoor Museum
What a great day we had exploring how the Vikings lived and breathed. Onto the islands.
Glad you got your seat back and hope you have a toddy or a hot coffee while looking at these pictures.
