Sydney is the state capital of New South Wales and the most populous city in Australia and Oceania. Located on Australia's east coast, the metropolis surrounds the world's largest natural Harbour, and sprawls towards the Blue Mountain to the west. Residents of Sydney are known as "Sydneysiders". Sydney is the second official seat and second official residence of the Governor- General of Australia, the Prime Minister of Australia and the Cabinet of Australia. The Sydney area has been inhabited by indigenous Australians since the Upper Paleolithic period. The first Briish settlers arrived in 1788 to found Sydney as a penal Colony, the first European settlement in Australia.
So that's a little history of Sydney. When we were coming in on the sail in this morning the Captain was suppose to be a the pilot area at 5:30 and to be coming thur the area called the head and docked at 6:30. So we always like to see the sail in's so we got up at 5:00 am and he was almost in the city. I couldn't believe it. First time he is damn early and it's gotta be Sydney. So nobody saw the Opera House it was too dark and they don't keep it lit up at night. Sailing into Sydney Harbour Is one of the world's greatest maritime moments. And he the freakin Captain Maroje Brajcic brings us in the dark. What a disappointment....
This morning we were off the ship by 7:00 and bought a city opal card that allows you to travel on busses, ferries and subways, light rails, all for 20.00. It was great we took a bus and went to Bondi Beach for the morning
Surfers and at the point a helicopter rescue someone. They were looking for a long time in the water for someone. Then we took a bus back to circular quay where our ship is docked and jumped on a ferry to go to Manly. It is one of Australia's most loved, most frequently visited and most scenic sea-side tourist destination. It is world famous for 2.4 kilometer of pure beautiful Pacific beach and stunning harbour views. It's also the birthplace of surfing in Australia.
Going to Manly by ferry passing the famous Opera House
