More pictures of yesterday in Bali
Day 52 & 53 February 26 & 27. Overnight Benoa (Denpaser). Bali
Beautiful, peaceful Bail. The small village of Benoa is located on the Southeastern coast of Bali. The town has developed over the past 20 years into a very popular cruise destination for those that like to cruise. It still retains its charming identity as a local fishing village. The calm waters and the beautiful white sand beaches have made Benoa one of Bali's most appealing water sport destination. But this is only one part of the island. Within the landscapes of valley's and volcano's sit mystical temples that date back centuries. On the island Bali there are thousands of temples that for sure showcase the unique and enduring spirituality of the area. The Balinese people are extremely devout and life on the island revolves around prayers and ceremonies.
Bali is also known for the World's best surfing and diving not to mention all the temples.
"Benoa is a relatively new port. At the dock you will be greeted by Balinese dancers.
You can hire at the pier a car or van & driver for 4 hours for about $65. You have to make sure the driver speaks some English.
Within the precincts of the terminal there are demonstrations of Balinese art and culture. Dancing, puppets and a Gamelan Orchestra in addition to demonstrations including: wood carving, batik printing, paintings and sculpture.
Benoa Harbor is now being developed as a turn-around port, capable of accommodating international cruises that embark or disembark from the island.
Note: If your room steward is from Bali, do him or her a favor be requesting that your stateroom not being cleaned. This way he will have time to meet his family.
"Kuta Beach is the most popular and developed beach in Bali.
Blessed with natural beauty, one of the top attractions for visitors to Indonesia is without any doubt the island of Bali. With its multitude of mountains, volcanoes, beaches, paddy fields, customs, local lifestyle, art, religions and attractions, Bali is popular as a gateway destination. The friendliness of the Balinese makes many visitors feel at home on the island. Geographically, Bali is situated between the Islands of Java and Lombok, and thus boasts a stunning coastline of beautiful beaches for relaxing or waves of international standards for surfing.
Nusa Dua is an enclave of large international 5-star resorts in south-eastern Bali. It is located 40 kilometers from Denpasar, the provincial capital of Bali.
Immediately north of Nusa Dua enclave is the peninsula of Tanjung Benoa that includes less exclusive hotels and Benoa village. A multi-denominational area, it includes a mosque, and Chinese and Hindu temples in close proximity.
Every house has a temple - in the grounds of a big house it can be a very impressive building, in artisan houses it'll be just a cupboard.
"There were some small stalls setup in the cruise terminal and souvenir sellers outside the terminal gates. Very busy area.
In Indonesia eating with your hand (instead of utensils like forks and spoons) is very common. The basic idea is to use four fingers to pack a little ball of rice, which can then be dipped into sauces before you pop it in your mouth by pushing it with your thumb. There's one basic rule of etiquette to observe: Use only your right hand, as the left hand is used to clean yourself in the bathroom. Don't stick either hand into communal serving dishes: instead, use the left hand to serve yourself with utensils and then dig in. Needless to say, it's wise to wash your hands well before and after eating. Eating by hand is frowned on in some "classier" places. If you are provided with cutlery and nobody else around you seems to be doing it, then take the hint.

Day 49 Feburary 23 2015. Another Port missed
Well last night we were in formed that just maybe we would'nt be able to stop in Geralton Australia our last port on this continent. Due to some high swells in the ocean and this is a tender port for us. As I am writing this we are where we need to be and are just waiting for them to check out the situation. After a announcement at 7:10 this morning the Captain came on and apologize that this last stop in Australia will be canceled. So instead we carry on to our next port of call which is Benoa Bali. Instead of arriving at 4 in the afternoon we will arrive at 9 instead. As long as we can get the berth early. So there it is in a nut shell. Sea day today. They are playing the live show of the Oscars starting at 9 am maybe we will go see some of that. Whatever we will enjoy this day.

Pictures of our day in Perth
What a fantastic day. We took the train to Perth from Fremantle than walked for 12 hours. Came back to our home and had a great Aussie barbaque. Than walked our to Fremantle for 1.5 hours. Time for bed. We sail to Geralton at 4 pm. All aboard at 3:15.
Day 47 & 48. February 21 & 22 2015 ~ Fremantle ( Perth) Australia
Our 5th port in Australia. Fremantle is where the port is and Perth is the city. We are lucky to have 2 days here to explore. "Freo, as it's known by locals, is a vibrant port city you can't miss. Situated at the mouth of the Swan River, the multi-cultural city has a charm of its own, setting it apart from the rest of Perth. Fremantle has world-famous heritage buildings and a fascinating maritime and convict history. And it boasts the best preserved example of a 19th century port streetscape in the world. Essential stops on the history trail include WA's earliest convict jail, the Roundhouse, Fremantle Prison and WA Maritime Museum. Freo has retained its authenticity, anything-goes attitude and creativity. It's also a shopaholic's heaven. Browse through crafts, food and curios in the bustling Fremantle Markets. What a great day we had. Walked all over Perth 12 hours saw everything there was to see.

Day 45 ~. February 19, 2015. ~ Albany Australia
It also was a big whaling industry. The historic whaling station had ceased operation in 1978 and now is a great museum. This is the only museum in the world that was created from a working whaling station. There is also a big Wind Farm here as well. Today we are just walking the town for exercise.

Day 39 ~. February 13, 2015. Melbourne, Australia
"Melbourne is Australia's second largest city (pop 4.0 million), and the capital of the south-eastern state of Victoria, located at the head of Port Phillip Bay.
The Melbourne city centre is a beautiful and interesting mix of the old and the new. You can't miss the Eureka Tower and the Rialto stands out as well but look closely and you will notice some intricate buildings from a bygone era.
Melbourne has an amazing range of attractions and activities to keep you entertained all year 'round.
Enjoy a cruise along the Yarra River, re-live some great sporting memories on a tour of the MCG or see some spectacular 360-degree views from the Melbourne Observation Deck. There are several stands selling tickets for river cruises. We have lots of walking to do here. So stay tuned.
